It was lovely to see everyone who was able to join the combined meeting with the Rotary Club of Kings Meadows, enjoying a great evening of fellowship.
Thank you to President Di Schwagermann and to fellow Rotarians from the
Kings Meadows Club for being wonderful hosts! The Wednesday event made me think of the recent newsletter from our DG, Heather Chong in which she talks about ‘working together to bring change in our communities’. It is indeed the way forward in making an impact on some of the more difficult and challenging issues we come across in our community.
DG Heather is asking clubs to undertake a project that has a
#focusonthehomeless. Our club is involved in community activities (soup van)
on a regular basis, providing support to those homeless or at risk of homelessness. But it is also a good reminder that next week is ‘Homelessness Week’
when across Australia, community organisations are raising awareness around this challenging topic.
