With Easter and daylight saving behind us, football well and truly into the season (for those who have an interest), and now the deciduous trees on the turn, winter is fast approaching.
Although the club had a busy March with community service and fund raising events, more community service events are in the planning. The SLRC jointly with the Central Launceston Rotary Club are preparing an application for District and International funding to provide 10 Water Bores in Tanzania. A major stakeholder with be Care for Africa who deliver the infrastructure. If successful, this project will be significant for the communities they service. In the next couple of weeks Rotarian Di Butler will make a presentation to members on the project.
The SLRC Board is proposing to have a Board Forum in early June to plan for the next twelve months. If you have any matter that you think the Board should address, then please let me know so that I can include it on the agenda.
It appears that we will have a large attendance at this Thursday’s social function at the Mowbray Hotel. See you there.
