Last Thursday, members and partners visited the Riverside Golf Club and it was obvious that all had a great time. The Golf Club did a wonderful job with the meal, but the highlight was the Australasian quiz. A sincere thank-you for Rotarian Wayne and partner Rue for organising the evening and also to quiz master Rotarian Ian Smith. The almost unanimous opinion was, (Rotarian ‘Bad’ Les the exception), that members wanted more of this style of social event. The overwhelming support was expected, given all had had an enjoyable evening.
The rainstorm on Thursday evening made those members who volunteered to bag the sheep poo nervous. Luckily the conditions on Saturday were kind and an enthusiastic group of Rotarians and friends were able to achieve excellent progress. I won’t mention the Rotarians who managed to get their vehicles bogged! The sheep poo sales are a primary source of income to allow the club to pursue its community service work. A thank-you must go to Rotarian Graeme LeFevre, who continues to organise the event and the background setup, which is no small task.
I hope to see as many as possible at the Grand Chancellor this Thursday night.
