Hello to all.   Last Thursday saw the induction of a new member, Rotarian Melissa McGrath.  Welcome Rotarian Melissa to the club. I mentioned at the meeting that Melissa is the 5th straight new  female Rotarian.  Rotary International have programs to promote gender equity.  It is heartening that at South Launceston we are achieving this goal naturally and more pleasing that the achievement is a natural progression.  That said, this is a good opportunity for members to spread the word and encourage further membership – male or female, young or more experienced. A thank you to Assistant Governor, Brett Williams and our speaker Kevin Preen (Catholic Care) for their attendance and information on the District Indigenous Health Project and Helping the Homeless respectively.  The South Launceston grant to CatholicCare may be small in monetary terms, but appears to fill a niche that is avoided by the much larger programs.  Well done to past Rotarians who identified this deficiency and supported a funding stream. I reminded members last week, but some of us need a gentle reminder – please check your profile on the South Launceston webpage to ensure your contact details are correct. See most of you on Thursday’s dinner meeting (incidentally another induction) and again on Saturday 31 August at the Bonfire and BBQ Member Fellowship night at the Mitchell’s Relbia Property.  President Harry.
