Last week’s guest speaker was Madelaine Rose from the organisation “All About Babies Tasmania.”
Madelaine said that there are three Tasmanians behind the organisation.
Louise Padgett is the mother of three girls, a professional cyclist and experienced motivational speaker. She has a Bachelor of Education degree in human movement.
Madelaine herself is a Canadian, now married to an Australian. She is a Remedial Massage Therapist and a Birth Doula (Birth Coach.) As well she is a Certified Pilates Instructor and Pregnancy Masseur. Her qualifications also include being a Biodynamic Cranosacral Therapist. She has a Diploma of Clinical Massage and Human Kinesology.
Madelaine is passionate about health and wellness for mothers, especially new mothers.
The third member of the trio is Zoe Freshwater, a mother of two, who is a graduate in infant and neonatal therapy. She is also an osteopath. Zoe is passionate about caring for mothers and their babies.
“All About Babies Tasmania” was formed to organise a Showcase in the Albert Hall on Sunday August 11th 2019 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. The organisers have been able to secure corporate funding for this event, including support from St Luke’s Health.
Madlelaine said that new parents are often overwhelmed by information concerning the birth of a baby and the events that follow.
The aim of the Showcase is to provide a one stop shop of information in a relaxed and informal setting, where prospective and new parents can absorb information of their choosing. The Showcase will feature businesses and organisations involved in new life. Organisations like the Karinya Women’s Refuge, the Asthma Foundation and refugee and migrant organisations will also be part of the event.
Information will be designed to provide for diverse groups of parents, particularly mothers. Teenage and single mothers will be catered for as well as those in city and rural environments and also those who experience problems with private health cover.
The Showcase will be all about providing information and creating resources for its target audience. The Showcase will welcome volunteers from Rotary to assist with the event.
