What a great night at our Thursday night meeting. I really enjoyed my meal and the compa-ny. It was great to have Treasurer Steve bring an example of the new style of Street Swag for us to see. Rotarian Terry did a fantastic job of modelling it for us. It was an engaging, interactive and a great visual display. Thanks to those Rotarians that helped flip him over when it became clear it was actually upside down. It looks like it is a great swag, sturdy, easy to carry, waterproof and has the ability to be self supporting on its corners.
Past President Craig gave a fantastic talk on the history of dentistry, the talk was one that had the ability to make your lips curl over your teeth to remind you that yours are still in your head and made of something sturdier than any of the items he described. Lucky we are in modern times.
I had a bag full of red socks which I have given to Secretary Lara and are available for sale for $5.00. Also if any Rotarians have not got their new Rotary badge or District Directory please also catch up with Lara for that.
Ayumi arrived on Monday, which is very exciting for our club and it will great to meet her at our meeting this Thursday night. I hope we will have a good number at our meeting this week to make her welcome. Listening to the speakers a District Conference and the District Assembly has really opened my eyes to the value, impact and life changing experience Rota-ry Youth Exchange offers not only to the young person but to the clubs and host families.
Please take the time to read the DG's O & N so Ros, the District Secretary, can see who opens theirs.
Looking forward to seeing you this week. Krista.
