President Glenda’s Notes -15th August 2016

Wednesday, 17 Aug 2016

Hello Rotarians,
I think  you would all have to agree with me, Ian Smith did a great job in organising our Trivia night. I for one will make sure that when we have the next Trivia night I will study current affairs. We are hoping to have another Trivia night when Kings Meadows Rotary visits us.
We also enjoyed the company of Rabi Shah, Rabi is studying at the University and was a Rotary Peace Fellow in 2012-2013. Wayne Higgs also joined us again with a keen interest in becoming a member.
A Board meeting  was held last week and the Board approved a Leave of Absence  for 6 months from David Bartholomew.  We wish David all the best and will miss his friendship.
Rotary 9830 has asked that all clubs ensure all members and partners have completed their Police checks and Working with Young Children.
Any Rotarian or Rotary Volunteer  who is not certified, in the event of a litigation, is not insured. This  means that  the  District will not have claim to the insurance Policy and the club will be liable for the $25,000 excess not District 9830.
 Quote  for  the  week
You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
Thank you.
