President Glenda’s Notes -8th March 2018

Wednesday, 07 Mar 2018

Welcome  Rotarians,

Thank you  for  listening and engaging  with our guest speaker last week.  Fraser Sutton is definitely  a name we  will all hear of in the future, it always a joy to hear them talk with such passion the world is certainly their oyster and we wish him a great future.

Bjork attended Oatland camp and had a fantastic  time catching up with all the other exchange  students  and practising their presentations  for District Conference  in April.

On Sunday a few Rotarians  attended the Youngtown  Rotary  Soggy  Bottom  cardboard box  regatta  and we had a great time participating  in a few events. Rotarians  Lance  Pfeffer  and Paul Fitzpatrick  had fun launching their vessel into Waverley  Lake, they were fierce competitor's  and came in 2nd in their first race and a first in the next race, it was a close call. We then challenged Rotary  Youngtown  to  dragon boat race  and  if you have not seen the replay hop onto our Facebook  page. The last events were a dry land boat race which Lance entered with his son Ewan and they took out a 1st , then  a few Rotarians  entered the tug of war. All in all it was a great day for us to just enjoy and relax.

This Thursday is a Board meeting, once again if you would like to bring something  up with the Board please have it in writing  and hand it either to me or a Director.

Yours in Rotary,

President Glenda  Iles
