President Glenda’s Notes - 2nd Feb 2016

Friday, 03 Feb 2017

I hope that you all enjoyed Australia Day with family and friends.
We are in for a treat this Thursday evening with a presentation from Martin George. Outer space
intrigues us all and I am sure that many of you will have a few questions for Martin.
We will be eventually going to visit the Planetarium, so it is fair to say that Thursday night is Part 1 and
Part 2 to be advised. This will be a limited number, so if you are interested please let Rotarian Paul
Swaitkowski know.
Rotarian Neville King will soon need to receive visitors and someone to bring him along to a meeting
whilst Rotarian Judith King is resting from her operation. Please contact Rotarian Judith if you are
available to assist, their number is on the Rotary members site. I will also take this opportunity to wish
Judith a speedy recovery.
I mentioned last week about the Conference in Smithton, if you are interested please jump on line and
In recent weeks the Youth Exchange committee has successfully engaged a number of families of
past outbound exchange students, who are willing to home-host an inbound student, in conjunction
with a local Rotary club, commencing July 2017, This will significantly reduce the dependency of club
members taking this responsibility over a twelve month period. Co-hosting a student with a nearby
Rotary club could be easier for our club members. If anyone is interested please contact me.
