Hello Rotarians ,
Last week our Rotarian behind the Badge Wayne Higgs let us all into a small part of his life. It was a
great presentation and I knew Rotarian Wayne was from Devonport as he grew up with my husband
but until Thursday night I did not know that he had ancestors steeped in Launceston history. These
segments are as always very interesting . Thank you Rotarian Wayne .
This weekend is shaping up to be very busy for our club with The Historic Road Championship at
Symmons Plains . Rotarian Graeme LeFevre and his helpers have been very busy organising this
event and I wish them all the success. I would also like to thank all those members and partners for
their invaluable assistance during the 3 day event.
Sunday is also RSPCA BBQ and I would also like to thank those Rotarians that have offered a helping
Next Sunday is our BBQ lunch at Sharman's Vineyard and it is going to be a great day. Rotarian Sonia
and her team have done a fantastic job organising the day and also drumming up raffle prizes. A special
mention must go to Rotarian Terry Crawford who has worked tirelessly behind the scene and held a
few meetings at his work place with his "Angels". This event can only get better so please support it.
I have requested that any Rotarian or partners who wish to make a salad to please contact Rotarian
Sonia or Toni with what salad they will be bringing on the day. Please don't bring a salad in your best
bowl, maybe buy a bowl from the reject shop.
I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday night .
