President Glenda’s Notes - 15th Dec 2016

Friday, 03 Feb 2017

Dear Rotarians,
Thank you to those who attended our AGM.
We unfortunately did not have a nomination for a new President, therefore I have put my hand up. I am pleased that the club has the faith in me and I still have much to learn. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first six months as President. Thank you for all of your support.
Our Board is at this stage:
Rotarian Krista Preece will remain as Secretary and also PE for the year 2018/19.This is very exciting as we do struggle to fill this position.
Rotarians Steve Gordon and Terry Crawford will once again take on the role of Treasurers.
Rotarian Graeme LeFevre will take on Club Service.
Rotarian Jacquilyne Kelder is Youth Director
Rotarian Paul Swaitkowski is our Vocational Director.
Rotarian Dianna Butler is our International Director
Rotarians Sonia Morganti and Toni Binns will be Directors and continue with Fundraising.
Rotarian Lara Alexander will be a Director.

After our AGM we held a Board meeting.
At this meeting the board approved to increase the bursary fund for 2017 to $300 per student. We approved a donation of $2,000 to the Examiner Christmas Stocking appeal.
It is with great sadness that I am to inform all members that Past Rotarian Ray Watson and Lorraine Watsons youngest son Tony passed away this week. I will pass on our condolences on behalf of all members during this sad time.
This week is our last meeting and I have asked all members and guests to wear something festive for Christmas. I would also like those who are able to donate $ 5 towards the Examiner empty stocking fund. I have also organised for the Examiner to come to the club at 6.20pm to take a few photos as they were very grateful for the substantial donation.
Last Thursday I attended a luncheon with Norwood Combined Probus Club. I look forward to seeing more of the club in the New Year. They certainly proved to show me that age shows no barriers. As President Faith Layton mentioned in her notes:  It is very satisfying to observe the increasing links between both clubs. Long may it continue.
I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year and to also thank you all for your wonderful support.
Wishing you all have a safe and Merry Christmas with your family and friends.
