Show week is now behind us and I would like to thank all Rotarians, family and friends that volunteered their time to assist on the gates.
This Saturday is the Make a Wish walk run event. Dale Luck will be asking for volunteers it is a great opportunity to get our name out there.
Tuesday night a group of Rotarians and family spent a wonderful evening at Wangs Chinese Restaurant. Thanks, Judith, for organising this social night. We look forward to many more events like these.
We have just received an email from our NYFS student Nicola Potter. Nicola has been very busy fundraising her half of the fee required for the Science Forum to be held in January. We will be in touch with Nicola shortly and ask her to visit our club. If we are investing in her future, I believe we should take an interest in her. We are never too old to learn.
DG Gerard Blizzard is to be congratulated on the signing of White Ribbon as there ambassador . I have attached a small statement for those who missed this news.
What a full but wonderful week!
Friday saw the signing of the Community Partnership between Rotary Tasmania and White Ribbon Australia. This problem within our society has been ignored for too long and the communities are beginning to speak out. I see it as only right that Rotarians, as leaders within our communities should play our part indeed lead the way in having these discussions and raise awareness. I have been accepted as a White Ribbon ambassador and am available to clubs to assist in any way.
I am still on the lookout for an editor, please if you have a bit of spare time please contact Rotarian Lydia Nuttall.
A reminder that there is a Board meeting this Thursday night. It is an ideal opportunity for any Rotarians to raise any concerns and we can discuss them at a Board Level. Please email Secretary Krista.
Quote of the week:
When you volunteer, you are not paid in money or recognition, you are paid in Love.
