President Glenda’s Notes - 1 st March 2018
Thursday, 01 Mar 2018
It seems like a month since I last gave my report. Would you believe it has only been two weeks.
During those times we have been fortunate to visit The Mens Shed at Youngtown, this shed is an innicative of the Youngtown Rotary club. As a club we had a great number of members turn up. We got to learn abit more about what they do and how much fun they have and how they involve people who want to educate others in wood work and also it is just a great place for men to go for companionship. We then joined the Youngtown Rotary club for a meal.
Last Thursday night a small group of Rotarians volunteered their time assisting Glen Dhu primary school with the welcome back BBQ for families and students, and of course the evening finished with a few of us having a meal at The Sporties where we also discussed our project in Fiji. More information will be forth coming during the next few months.
It is not long now until the Rotary District Conference in Hobart, please go onto the website and book in for this event.
Secretary Krista is still on the lookout for a bulletin editor, this position needs to be filled by the end of April.
Bjork has settled well into the school year and is managing her lessons well. Thank you Rotarian Paul Fitzpatrick and Christine for taking Bjork over the weekend, she of course had a great time with your family. Bjork is off to Oatlands this weekend for Youth Exchange camp. Let's hope the weather is kind to them.
This Sunday is the Soggy Bottom cardboard box regatta at Waverley lake. We hope to see you all there as you cheer on our boat. Rotarian Lance Pfeffer has done a great job building this vessel and deserves our support.
I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday evening.
Yours in Rotary
President Glenda Iles
