President Glenda’s Notes - 26 July 2016

Wednesday, 27 Jul 2016

Dear Rotarians,

Once again we all enjoyed a wonderful evening. Thank you Rotarians, partners and guests for your attendance.

Past President, Les Baxter, presented  Diana Butler OAM with a Paul Harris Fellow for her work with Care for Africa. Congratulations to a wonderfully inspiring woman.

District  Governor  Gerard  Blizzard  and his wife, Fiona joined us for a buffet. DG Gerard spoke to us about the District and educated us on White Ribbon Men preventing violence against  women.  The  statistics  are astounding. DG Gerard also mentioned District Conference which will be held  at  Smithton  31st March 2017 and it would be great to see as many Rotarians as possible support this wonderful event.

Please remember if anyone has suggestions or ideas for projects leave a note in the members badge box for Secretary Krista Preece.

This week our guest speaker is Fiona Weller from Moore's Hill Vineyard.  Fiona will be talking to us about the Tasmanian wine industry and it should be a very interesting evening.

I look forward  to seeing you all on Thursday.

 Quote for the week:
Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people..
