Last week we enjoyed a great evening with two wonderful presentations. Thank you for being seated on time as this helped the evening to run smoothly.
Friday was a busy morning for me as I took Corrado Vitali and Erik around Launceston. We managed to go to the City Park to look at the monkeys as Corrado could not believe we had monkeys living in a park. We also visited the City Park Radio museum, Trevallyn Dam, Inveresk Museum and the Building of Fine Arts. Then it was time for a coffee and making sure I got Corrado on the bus back to Hobart. This brief time helped to understand a little about the Rotary Student Exchange program. These young people are the richer for the experience of living in another country and away from home.
This week Rotarian Ian Smith will be running our evening as I have a family function. I am sure you will enjoy the games he has for you all.
Please remember that our club along with Rotary West Launceston will be working at Agfest from Wednesday through to Sunday next week. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Rotarian Graeme LeFevre to go on the roster.
Rotarian Sonia Morganti spoke at the last meeting about a social night at Yacht Club Fifty Five. We have not had a social evening since January. If you are interested in joining us contact Rotarian Sonia. The date is yet to be decided.
I am once again on the lookout for someone to organise guest speakers from July, Rotarian Fraser Nuttall has done a great job this year and will be handing over this role. If you think this is something you would like to do please contact me or Rotarian Fraser for more information.
Quote of the week: We didn’t realise we were making memories; we just knew we were having fun.
