President Glenda’s Notes - 3rd August 2017

Friday, 04 Aug 2017

Hello Rotarians,

I have had a great week and a busy one organising  our student exchange Bjork Hansen as she settles  into  life in Tasmania  as well as school and trying to remember  everyones name.
I would have to say it has been great watching Bjork come out of her shell and enjoying my family, slowly  her sense of humour is starting  to show and the banter at the dinner table is enjoyable. We as a family of often only the 2 of us (when Kate is at work) would often eat dinner in front of the tv, now we enjoy  setting the table for dinner and talking. So far we have taken Bjork for a walk along the Seaport, Gorge and Penny Royal (weather permitting).
Bjork is settling into the daily school routine  and will be studying Maths, English, Art and Dance. We will keep you all informed with her progress.

August  is Rotary Membership  Month and I would like all Rotarians  to  at  least  invite one  friend along to one of our meetings.

We would like to extend our best wishes to District Secretary  Mike Woods who is slowly on the road to recovery after a being very critically ill, with septicaemia , Mike is breathing on his own and has been moved to a general ward at Calvery however is still not receiving visitors.

I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday.
